CIVIL SERVICES PRELIMS CUM MAINS COACHING PROGRAMME 2024-25
Applications are invited from candidates desirous of undergoing coaching for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Coaching classes will be conducted at the Civil Service Institute, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
PROGRAMMES OFFERED
• Regular Programme: This is a five-day-per-week initiative that covers the syllabus for prelims and mains (optional subjects excluded).
Eligibility – Degree Passed or above
• Evening Programme (Online Batch): This is a five-day-per-week evening initiative that covers the prelims and mains syllabus (optional subjects excluded).
Eligibility – Plus Two Passed or currently enrolled students, Degree or above
• Foundation Programme (Online Batch): This is available two days per week: Saturday and Sunday. It is an initiative that covers the prelims and main syllabus (optional subjects excluded).
Eligibility – S.S.L.C. Passed, Plus Two or above
Age Limit: 15-30 (as of 01/01/2024)
Total number of seats: 70
The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable as follows:
• Up to a maximum of Five years if candidates belong to SC/ST.
• Up to a maximum of Three years in the case of candidates belonging to OBC.
• Up to a maximum of Ten years in the case of Differently-Abled candidates (blind, deaf-mute, and orthopedically handicapped).

Duly filled application forms with the supporting documents and fee receipts should be submitted directly to the Director (i/c), Civil Service Institute, Mahatma Gandhi University, on or before 20.12.2024.

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE

• Evening Programme (Online)
 Duration: 600 Hrs Maximum
 Time: 6 pm to 9 pm. (Two sessions of 1.5 hrs)

• Regular Programme
 Duration: 600 Hrs Maximum
 Time: 9.30 am to 3.30 pm ( Two sessions of 1.5 hrs Class & Library, practical Sessions )

• Foundation Programme (Online)
 Duration: 600 Hrs Maximum
 Time: Saturday 5 pm to 8.00 pm. (Two sessions of 1.5 hrs)
Sunday 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm

* Any change in class schedule will be announced in due course

PROCEDURE TO APPLY
Applicants can download the application form from the official website of Mahatma Gandhi University, https://www.mgu.ac.in. There is only one application form for all programmes. A candidate’s candidature may be cancelled if he or she submits more than one application. Completed applications, along with the relevant

certificates should be submitted directly to the Director (i/c), Civil Service Institute, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
The application fee should be paid to the “Director (i/c),” “Civil Service Institute,” and “Mahatma Gandhi University,” and the receipt for the same should be submitted without fail along with the application form.

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION

The institute will select or allocate a candidate based on the candidate’s interview rank and the availability of seats. Only those candidates who are on the rank list will be processed for allotment. Qualified candidates based on their marks from the last qualifying examination and their interview marks will be admitted to the programme as per the existing reservation rules.
** The director has the authority to revoke any of the batches if the number of applicants falls below the statutory limit **
